since 1993, one of the most popular contributor to our plastic waste has barely changed the container that is used.
i challenge you to observe the items that you are purchasing that come in plastic packaging. and ask yourself: are you comfortable sending that packaging back to the company to be cleaned and refilled and returned to you?
this would mean it likely wont be the exact same package that you sent.
but our recycling industry is busted, corrupt, and ugly. and quite frankly, i don’t see why we need to expend more resources just to turn very difficult material into the exact same bottle again. why not just cut out the middle man, and recycle by reusing?
